Northern NJ Premiere of AFTERMATH
February 22, 2014 | 7:30pm*
Maurice Levin Theater, JCC MetroWest
The screening will be followed by a discussion and reception. Tickets are included with festival sponsorships (1 ticket at the $275 level, 2 tickets at the $525 level and up) and will be released to the public in early February.
AFTERMATH follows an Americanized man’s return to his Polish hometown where his estranged brother is being ostracized and harassed by the townspeople. Danger mounts as the brothers dig into the history and fate of the town’s Jewish community during WWII, stirring up anger and resentment. The winner of numerous awards, including the Yad Vashem Chairman's Award at the 2013 Jerusalem Film Festival, AFTERMATH was both hailed and despised upon its 2012 release in Poland as it triggered a firestorm of controversy.
