The first Israeli film to explore the painful subject of Israel's 18-year presence in Southern Lebanon, Beaufort dramatically depicts the complex moral and tactical dilemmas facing the young commander of Beaufort Castle, a Crusader-era fortress, during the Israeli Army's unilateral withdrawal from Southern Lebanon in 2000.
